Angelina Jolie…mmm…

30 01 2009

Okay, let’s be real. You might think she’s been overplayed. Over-hyped. And yeah…maybe she made out with her brother on the red carpet once. But, she’s amazing regardless.

Come check her out in Thurday’s Fresh DVD Release: Wanted

emergeNYC

28 01 2009

After an incredibly successful first year of EMERGENYC (Hemispheric New York Emerging Performers Program), we are delighted to announce the Call for Applications for 2009. As you will see, this year’s format has changed and EMERGENYC 2009 will be a shorter, more intensive version of the 2008 series, more closely approximating the intense and multi-faceted approach we have developed at our Encuentros. This year’s topic will be ACTIVIST PERFORMANCE, so please distribute widely to young New York-based activist/performers ages 18-23, and to organizations that could make this call available to them.

Interested? Read more about emergeNYC and about the application below.

Bring Coke-a-colaaa back

26 01 2009

Free Vitamin Water/T-shirts!!!

As you may be aware, in 2005 the University Senate passed a resolution to ban Coca-Cola products on the NYU campus based on human rights concerns related to Coca-Cola’s international operations.

There is now an interest in reviewing that resolution to determine if the university should continue the ban or lift the ban.

The Senate is hosting an open forum for any and all members of the NYU community to learn more about the review of the resolution. There will be presentations from representatives on both sides of the issue, and there will also be opportunities for attendees to voice their own opinions on the ban.
